gas-pump.jpgIt’s been said that you’re either part of the solution or you’re part of the problem.  According to the latest survey at Beyond.com, 72% of employers are choosing to be part of the problem when it comes to easing the cost of commuting for their employees.  The survey was based on response to the following question; “What is your employer doing to help with the rising price of gas affecting your commute?”.  Here are the results based on over 7000 responses.

So what’s your company doing?  Are they part of the solution or the problem?

Until next time…

Unfortunately, I do not see many employers making an attempt to help the commuting problem. Most businesses are fighting to stay in business right now, so giving extra days off, spending money to car pool and taking time to organize these things are really not a top priority right now. It’s a shame but its the truth, the economy has affected everyone, not just individuals.

Good points Greg. Everyone is being affected. It will be interesting to look back at this time 5 years from now. I wonder what will change as a result?

Actually, our office is allowing some people (as long as they get their work done) to 1 day a week work from home. So it’s kind of nice that once a week those — particularly with a longer commute will be able to not worry about the gas to get into work. But it’s sad that this isn’t a priority for more employers.
