casual_dress_fri.jpgWith the goal of expanding our world here at Career Waymark, today I thought I’d treat you all to a little sneak peak of a movie coming out this Christmas that’s going to be a shoe-in for Oscar nominations, but also looks really freaking good. The film is called Revolutionary Road.  It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (you might remember them from a little film called Titanic) and was directed by Sam Mendes, who brought us American Beauty among others.  Here’s a brief synopsis courtesy of Jason over at Popcritics.com ‘In it’s simplest form, Revolutionary Road is about a husband and wife in 1950s suburban Connecticut, who are dissatisfied with life and are trying to find fulfillment in an age of conformity.  Trapped in a world of encoded convention, they dream without faith, as lies and self-deceptions build to explosive consequences.’

It’s set in the 1950’s, but I think the challenges faced in the movie are alive and well today.  The movie is based on a novel written by Richard Yates.  Enjoy the preview and I’ll see you all next week.

Until next time…
